It’s felt like forever since I last blogged, and looking back to my last post, it indeed has been a while. It’s not that I don’t have anything to share, I just haven’t sat down to do so. Those of you that follow me on social media have seen some pictures over the last few months, such as behind the scenes photos, food, and lighting set ups. I still have some photos from Germany that should be posted somewhere, sometime. So I better start posting. Now.
Over the last year or so, I’ve noticed more and more Mexican sugar skulls popping up, whether it be sculptures, paintings, or makeup on actors/actresses in music videos. A couple weeks ago, I collaborated with makeup artist Riti Jain, and model Savana Sky Bouwer, to create our own version of one.
The thought to this photo was to keep it simple, yet impactful. It took a bit of work in post to get the look I imagined, but after adding some blue, doing some desaturating, and tweaking some more here and there, the final product looks pretty darn close to what I had in my head.
